High quality float glass heated up to 680 degrees Celsius then rapidly cooled results in fully tempered glass, a safety glass that is 4-5 times stronger than normal annealed glass of the same thickness and, if shattered, breaks up into small cube-like fragments which are not dangerous to humans.
